New York Fashion Week is here once again. We all know this means style both in the tents and on the street. Dividing these two worlds is a single velvet rope and the height of one’s heels. Wearing my bedazzled ballet flats, I knew there was only one thing to do… I snuck up to the rope and planted my flat smack in-between, proving once again how to bridge both worlds. That’s how I remain chic and secure, whether I’m with the lithe ladies inside wearing Louboutins or the FIT students in flip-flops frolicking ’til dawn.

This is a great tee: perfect length, not too sheer but thin and a great piece to layer with a blazer or wear alone with skinny jeans and platform booties.
James Perse jersey shirt $155
Always wanted the perfect button up-not too boxy, not too tight in the chest? This is it. Wear it under a blazer for business meetings or with blue jeans for weekend brunch. This shirt makes casual/comfortable chic instead of sloppy.

An effortlessly cool and comfortable chic black top. Perfect with skinny jeans and boyfriend blazer or edgy leather jacket and bloused into the pencil skirt.

The grandpa sweater made sexy: wide open v-neckline is a perfect balance to a chunky thick sweater-nothing is sexier and more attractive than showing your clavicle –especially when you’re covered up for winter everywhere else.
Something Else cardigan $172
Talk about a steal! This cardigan is a must have in any womans closet. Move over thick cable knits, cropped pullovers and puffy cardigans, the most flattering cardigan is a thinner knit, long sleeve-and longer length-think below the hip. These sweaters are great with a little black dress or to add polish to a tank top and jeans.

I have yet to try this blazer on a client without success. Helmut Lang blazers scream minimalism which means it’s a classic so it will not go out of style. This blazer has the perfect balance of minimalism with just a touch of edge: not too much, not too little, just right. Take this from meeting to Girl’s Night Out-with long tank top, skinny legging and platforms or for weekly designated date night with husband it can be paired with a colorful blouse and nice black pants.
